Diagonal issue. TV resolution

Please help with advice. The other day (literally next week) I'm going to buy a TV. After many searches and comparisons of prices of local stores, I chose two models. (Due to the gloom of technical life in my local area, I have to choose from what is available.)
The first LCD Sony KDL-46EX402 46 inches. then I took the price + Full HD

The second model of Plasma Panasonic VIERA TX-PR50C3 , as far as I understand, is a special budget model for Eastern Europe. The diagonal is certainly impressionable, but still the resolution is 1024x768 Actually , the main question is, what will be the quality when watching 720p movies on such a diagonal and such a resolution?

What do you advise?

FullHD decides. 1024x768 by 50" is very bad.

the author, if we talk purely about resolution, and not think about trademarks, prices and deliveries, then a 720p movie will not look at 1024x768. Judge for yourself:
1080p = 1920x1080
720p = 1280x720 The
1024x768 you specified is some kind of complete crap that is not good for anything at all. Only on mobile or tablet permission.

I don't want to ignite the cooler. But as a note, I will note.
Panasonic is very good in the high segment (I can't afford it).
Sony, let's say, is good in all segments, but the brand markup reaches 30%, which is also not very profitable for the pocket.
For myself (and for relatives and friends) I always choose between samsung and lg. The former have more pleasant screens (in viewing angles), while the latter have higher functionality (with usb they eat any format). I didn’t understand where you are, but the choice of Korean brands, it seems to me, is the maximum everywhere.

Take Sony.
As for me, plasma is highly specialized for the home. cinema.

The pixel size on such Panas will be 1x1 millimeter. On modern monitors, pixels range from 0.22 to 0.27 mm.
On a 50" LCD TV with a resolution of 1920x1080, the pixel size will be 0.576 mm.
Even with this Panas, it is not clear how they achieved a 16:9 format with a resolution of 4:3.

if you look at Sony, look at Samsungs of the same diagonal, they will cost about the same, but they are much more omnivorous - they play almost any files of any format from flash drives.
also try to watch plasmas of the same diagonal or even more - due to technological features, they are cheaper on large diagonals than LCD TVs of similar quality, for example, Samsung ps50-c530 or c550 cost about 32 tr. ($ 1100), while they have a diagonal of 50 inches, a resolution of 1080p and everything else. The key here is the letter c in the name, which indicates the model of the 2010 model year. If there are such in stores, in my opinion, this will be the best choice among budget models.

I understand that the difference in power consumption does not interest you? Plasma eats 2.5-3 times more.

I also recommend paying attention to such features as
a) support for broadcasting standards
b) omnivorous internal media player
c) the ability to interface with the Internet
A. Soon the whole country will switch to a new broadcasting standard. By all indications, it will be DVB-T2 (not -T!). Therefore, it is better to immediately foresee this factor so that later you do not have to purchase some wild consoles for wild money.
B. It has been noted above more than once, but still. Content matters. In my opinion, it makes no sense to keep an external media player. But if you think otherwise, then you can ignore it.
B. It is especially nice when the TV can access content over the home network directly from the media, without dragging flash drives and screws. DLNA is better to have than not to have. Well, I also sometimes watch the Internet on a TV set, rather than reach for a tablet or go for a laptop / to a computer.
