DHCP on Windows Server?
Tell the novice administrator I can’t understand why you need to install a dhcp server on Windows Server if the router distributes dhcp to everyone by default? We have a peer-to-peer network in our organization, all computers are connected to the router, dhcp is raised on it and it distributes to everyone, the question arose about the implementation of Windows Server, so is it necessary to raise dhcp on it? if the router is already distributing?

Not necessary, but possible.
If you want to manage everything in one place, through AD, then you should install it.
If you don’t get it, don’t install it, it will also cope on a router on a small peer-to-peer grid.
And of course, there must be one DHCP server, otherwise it's bad.
If you have a domain controller, then it definitely has DNS on it.
And where DNS is, DHCP is also desirable. Because they work better together.
Suppose a computer receives IP from DHCP, it immediately transfers data to DNS, which will always be relevant for you. And you will know for sure which computer belongs to which IP
. The rest of the conveniences are already a matter of taste.
Size matters :)
Firstly, it is not safe to keep the functionality of the internal network on a router that has access to tyrnet. Router - router. Secondly, Windows administrators prefer Windows snap-ins for work, and they are only in Windows :)
