Delphi or Visual Stadio to write an application to work with MS SQL database?

Delphi's plus is that there is already a client application written in this environment, but not written by me, but how crooked that users are ready to calmly refuse it, and shoveling someone else's code and fixing endless bugs is not a very rewarding thing. Plus, the redundant objekt-pascal language does not inspire me at all. But at least I didn't understand much about it.
With C#, it’s somehow more pleasant to work, but knowledge in this area, especially working with the database, is practically zero .... The
question is, how is VS friendly with the MS SQL database, and how much more difficult or easier is it to develop? I don’t have such experience yet .. Therefore, I would like to know your opinion.

Only C#, WPF and EntityFramework!
Better deal with it, you will see how everything is simple and made for people. At times better than prehistoric Delphi.

When the question is posed this way, the application is best done in the IDE where it is most convenient for the developer (that is, you) to debug this application. Do what is most comfortable and fastest for you to understand the existing code and set up texts.
In addition, I will say that despite all the shortcomings of Delphi, its debugger is wonderful (... it was, now I don’t know in new versions).

I'll add to @alexeykiselev .
If WPF seems heavy, then you can write an application in WinForms. But we keep the rest of the technologies as they are. C#+EF is very powerful!
