Deleted all files from the server (old site) and uploaded new ones, but no changes happened. What can be wrong?

Deleted all files from the server (old site) and uploaded new ones, but the old site remained as if nothing had happened. What can be wrong? Deleted using the file manager in the hosting control panel.
