Debian xdg-open: space in folder name how to fix?

The problem is the following on debian 8.
When opening a file through filezilla and opening a file in it, in a folder that has a space, I get the following error.

Oct 29 04:45:34 debianlook filezilla.desktop[25876]: xdg-open: unexpected argument 'стол/тутимяфайла'
Oct 29 04:45:34 debianlook filezilla.desktop[25876]: Try 'xdg-open --help' for more information.

I understand that he swears at the syntax of the folder name in which there is a space, but why this path is not passed in quotes and where it can be corrected, I googled, but this pill does not heal, there are footnotes for editing XDG configs, but the paths are written correctly there, that's it in quotation marks.
Somewhere the path is transmitted, as it is with a space, but I can’t find where.

@drevil

rename to name without space is not an option?
