Date input and handling in JavaFX and Scene builder?

Good day. I'm trying to understand JavaFX and Scene Builder. The meaning of the program is as follows: you enter a date and when you press the button, the time elapsed from the entered date is calculated. I'm suffering for a long time, I just can't get it to work. Tell me, please, what is the error (write in more detail, if possible :)) and how to make it work? .. Thank you in advance!
