Dark or light code theme?

It seems to be like if you work on a dark theme, then your eyes get tired less. But if, at the same time, you switch to the browser (for where else), then the pages are mostly white and it hurts your eyes. How critical is it?
If you work on a light theme, then the transition to the browser is not felt (most sites are light).

Don't you think that this is a purely individual thing? Sounds like "I don't know what to have for lunch today, meatballs or chop, can you tell me?" Whatever is convenient for you, then use it, here you will be advised in the same way, based on your own preferences.
