Current driver and stepper motor + accelstepper?

Hello,
the situation after using the accelstepper library for arduino
is that the stepper motor gets very hot even though the voltage is half the standard (of course, at low speeds)
, what are the ways out of this situation?
raising the speed is not an option, except to find a gearbox somewhere, but I already have 5: 1,
the engine could not find more: 3d-diy.ru/shop/156/desc/shagovyj-dvigatel-c-redukt...
driver www.chipdip .ru/product/bb-a4983
supply voltage is approximately 6.7 volts lower threshold for the driver (although in the datasheet 8v is lower)
And how can this driver be limited by current? I didn’t understand anything about sense and how to paint resistors? (on the board there should already be 0.05 ohms, but there is nothing there

r4, r5 sense on the driver for some reason are shorted to ground,
you need to break the tracks and push resistors in?

As I saw the price, for an ordinary driver for a NEMA stepper type, to be honest, I almost fell into a slump. :) Do not take it as advertising, but people usually still buy something thicker, more reliable, and most importantly ten times cheaper, for example:

On this driver, you just by turning the trimmer, you can choose how much current to give the motor.
Thus, you can greatly reduce the heating of the motor, and the heating of the driver. But don't expect them to not heat up at all. Will. And that's okay.
In addition, the driver usually has two power inputs - one to work on its own, usually 5V and you can safely take them directly from the microcontroller, or whatever you control there, and the motor power input, it can be different depending on the driver. but usually 5 is around 22-25V.
In addition to the above, search for TB6560 , DRV8825
