Creating full-fledged sites on wordpress, are there any examples?

Hello, who can suggest some articles on this topic or full-fledged sites (not business cards, but information portals, or sites with non-standard functionality) made on WordPress? It’s just that the customer has a strong opinion that only business card sites or blogs can be created on WP, and something more complex (product catalogs, sites with a personal account in the frontend) needs at least Drupal, but not WP at all.
PS. While I myself was learning to create non-standard functionality, I tried to do this, but I didn’t make design standards anywhere, but simply studied and tried the possibilities. Therefore, I can not visually show him that this is possible.
Thanks in advance.

If you just need to "prove" that you can create complex, large projects on WP, then provide successful practices for using WP for other projects, do research. Although if the customer "does not fumble", then you are unlikely to be able to prove something to him.
And you need to understand that every customer wants his project to be unique in some way and have the ability to scale (he is confident in his "successful history").
And he is right in his own way:
Despite the fact that "nothing is impossible"(you can also edit the WP source code), as well as a bunch of plugins and the ability to write them for a specific task - using CMS for large projects, with unique functionality and potentially high load (and the customer is often sure of multi-million attendance) is less effective rather than using frameworks (Symfony, Yii, etc.) and building the project from scratch.
You should not follow the bicycle-crutch method - you will spend more time writing a new template / customizing WP for the project than studying the work of a couple of frameworks and building a project on them :)
And if you don’t have enough practice, offer some customers with medium-sized projects, his candidacy for less money or even for free in order to gain experience and "fill up the portfolio" (best practices ).
Hold on, good luck!
