I want to do something similar , but for my school.
My specialty is not quite programming, more device design and therefore I don’t quite know what to do :0).
To do this, I want to use not flash or java, but Qt (C ++) as training and getting skills.
At the moment I am studying the subject area and am not familiar with implementation methods. In this regard, I would like to receive from you, professionals, useful information on this topic.
In short, you need to do a "Virtual tour in terms of achieving results" . This is the creation of 3D panoramas, "walking" between them, the presence of interactive.
This task has been divided into the following parts:
1. Preparing panoramic photos (I take a photo of my school)
2. Writing a 3D panoramic photo viewer.
3. Implementation of the transition through panoramic photos.
4. Client-server implementation.
What I know at the moment:
Panoramas are circular, ie. when the textures are stretched on a cylinder and spherical when on a sphere.
In this case, the image is applied to the cylinder as a texture, and the perspective camera is placed in its center. In this regard, I study the basics of OpenGL.
As for the client-server implementation, I don’t know much here. I would be happy to fill in the gaps with your help.
