CPU resource allocation policy on the virtual machine?

For example, there is a home computer on socket 775, with a 2-core processor (e8400), 8 GB of memory.
I installed KVM on it under Debian x64. After that, the correct distribution of processor time on several machines is of interest.
At the moment, only two containers are required for Debian and FreeBSD. There are no particular questions here, it would be more correct to give each machine one core in order not to create a large load on the neighboring machine and on the host machine. (Both containers will wait longer than run (LAMP, OpenVPN, Samba, etc.)
In the future, two more machines may be needed. How to deal with this situation for different types of virtualization? Be it OpenVZ, KVM\XEN, VMWare, etc. .d

percent is not memory - it won’t die out
for everyone, you can put at least 2 cores and stick at least 10k machines, it will slow down at the peaks, it’s all
clear that in your case it’s better for everyone
