Copyrights for old technical books

There are many sites where you can download Landau's ten volumes. How legal is it to create such sites and store djvu/pdf files of (old) theoretical physics/mathematics/… textbooks on the server?

Date of death of the author + 70 years, if there are no other copyright holders.

I think that if the author is not alive, then nothing will happen. After all, there are a lot of Pushkin's poems on the Internet, they are sold everywhere, and everything is legal. This is a classic. In any case, you do not derive commercial profit, even if you break the law, you act out of pure motives, bring joy and knowledge to people, no cruel measures will be taken. And one more thing - nobody cares, I once sold copies of brands, there were no problems at all. Until you cross someone's path and earn a lot, no one is interested in you, neither the tax authorities, nor Rospotrebnadzor, nobody.
