For some reason, I'm leaning towards the Brackets editor, although I honestly admit that I myself have never used it, but I saw it in action, so I want to try it =)
Ace or CodeMirror, both have backlight and a bunch of handy things from the same sublime or braces. Ace itself does not align the code with a herringbone, it can only add or remove indents from the entire code, but it supports emmet and code completion.
I myself use ACE, and formally, for minor edits, to write the basic code, in any case, you need to use a normal full-fledged editor.
