Connecting the matrix to the controller from a monitor of another brand?

I fell into the hands of a semi-working laptop, there is no sense in restoring a laptop, I wanted to use the matrix from it model B150XG01, in the bins there was a long-found monitor with a broken matrix lying around. I took out a controller with a VGA input from the monitor; there was an LM150X08 matrix, but the cables do not match in size and the number of wires from the controller to the matrix.
The question is, is it possible to use all the board controller for matrices by tricking with the cable wires, or is it a disastrous thing and you only need to buy a compatible controller?
