Computer vision practice, Python?

Interested in what tasks you performed to master computer vision (level - beginner), PL - Python, although in general it does not matter. What books did you study, what did you take as an example, what courses did you take? Or maybe you can recommend a resource where there are step-by-step guides? Give examples, please.

@Timebird

Worked with medical images (segmentation/analysis), not so much CV as machine learning, but now these areas are increasingly overlapping. First of all, I took a course on Coursera from Andrew Ng, then materials from Stanford University on convolutional neural networks, then all sorts of manuals on menpo in order to deal with ASM, AAM. In general, I started reading books, but most of what was written there is still recognized in the process of work. Walkthroughs are shit in the extreme because they're often written for monkeys and don't teach much. Take a problem (training competition with Kaggle, for example) and solve it. Quite cool if there is someone to contact with a question.
