Computer freezes up. What is the problem?

Hello. Decided to upgrade my old computer. Intel core 2 duo e6420, geforce 8600gt, 2gb RAM, Asus P5B
mother
After the replacement, the computer worked on the strength of a couple of hours and then began to freeze tightly. First, with the old hdd, stuck in the ssd, it started up tightly in a minute. I installed another spare hdd, everything started up again, but after a minute it freezes tightly.
Could it be a power surge issue or something? As I understand it, drives die, because putting some other one, it works for a couple of minutes, and then falls off.
There was a PSU ascot a-420 2.01 at 400w, for the sake of interest I changed it to another one where 420w, but everything is the same.
Can someone tell me what's going on?
Thanks

Thank you all, the reason turned out to be in the RAM, I thought about it at the very last moment, because there was an idea that it should not have failed.
And the ssd and proc work, everything is fine ...

Check the sata cable.
Change the sata port on the motherboard.
If after "re-plugging" the cable it worked, somewhere the cable was not plugged in

The new processor is noticeably more powerful in terms of power consumption.
The motherboard is old, and could not survive the increased load.
