Collecting the Rubik's Cube

Already 2 months involved in collecting puzzles. He defeated the 3x3x3 cube, the more so the pyramid, on the way 4x4x4. Recently, an article was posted on Habré about the "author's" algorithm (it turned out to be stolen), in the comments they mentioned the program. I remember this comment from time to time. Thinking about how to write a script that solves a 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube from a given state. I thought about arrays, matrices, graphs. What is still in my head looks too terrible. Although slowly I think about how to describe different situations. To begin with, it is enough to describe about 10 formulas, and then Friedrich if desired. Although there is a feeling that it will be assembled "on the forehead", by enumeration. Hit google looking for articles. And here I am.

If someone can help, in which direction of mathematics to think or find an article, I will be glad.
