CNC setup - how, depending on the selected language, to substitute a value in the browser string?

Hello.
Let's say there is a site:
When you go to site.com - the default language on the site is English.
If the user goes to site.com/fr, then the user will be loaded with the French version of the site, but here's the catch.
How to make "fr" appear only in the browser line, but not in any way affect the paths to style files (CSS), JS files, etc. That is, the use of "fr" in the browser is a pure formality for SEO, but at the same time I would like it not to affect the overall operation of the site. How to rewrite htaccess correctly? Or how to properly organize such logic? Thanks in advance!

@LaJokero

Using absolute references solves the problem.
