CMS with user registration and article moderation. Drupal, Wordpress, something else?
I never thought I'd ask such a stupid question.
And yet...
Do I understand correctly that for a site with user registration, a personal account and writing articles by categories with subsequent moderation, Drupal is much more suitable than WordPress?
Once I did something similar on WordPress, I had a lot of underwater and surface stones (I don’t remember which ones) from registration to my personal account. I remember that the impression "Wordpress is not for such sites" remained.
I didn’t do this on Drupal, but I “played”, it seems to be more or less clear what and how.
Or am I just not familiar with WordPress?

WordPress is more of a blogging system, Drupal is a CMF, more versatile but also, in fact, quite difficult to learn and refine. It's not clear from the question what the goal is. However, if we are talking about publishing, I recommend looking in the direction of ghost.
Didn't understand WordPress. Installing the user plugin is not difficult, it takes 10-15 minutes to figure it out.
The main work will be to create a page for adding material (it is done separately, without using the admin panel). It is when creating this page (like Google), in the parameters, what status the post will have: published, under consideration, etc.
You will understand the full power of Drupal only when you fully understand it. For a beginner, it may seem too complicated if there is no one to tell you what to do and how to do it.
