Chrome started to slow down quite a lot, help with the setup?
First of all, the following points are of interest:
1. What plugins / flags affect the speed, which ones should be disabled painlessly?
2. Is it normal for a tab to have 80 MB of RAM on average?
3. Is it normal that when you open 10 tabs at the same time, the current tab freezes. That is, even scrolling does not work on it, not to mention clicking on links.
ps I often clean cookies, I often clean the system (CCleaner). Tried reinstalling Chrome. Tried to completely delete files from the profile. The problems started sort of like after updating to version 13.0.782.220 m. Installed Beta, same thing. Stupid both on a working desktop and on a home laptop. Tupit with different profiles. Everything is fine in other browsers, but there is no desire to leave Chrome!
p.p.s. My system:
1. Intel i3
2. 4GB RAM
3. Win7 64

1. What plugins/flags affect the speed, which should be safely disabled? You can try to disable hardware acceleration, but if it's glitches.
2. Is it normal for a tab to have 80 MB of RAM on average?I have in Chrome and in all modern browsers about the same.
3. Is it normal that when you open 10 tabs at the same time, the current tab freezes. That is, even scrolling does not work on it, not to mention clicking on links.I also have this problem not only with Chrome. When I had a task related to the constant opening of many tabs, I used the Opera, everything was OK there.
Similar problem. Tried disabling extensions, plugins, and indeed everything that turns off. The culprit could not be traced. Suddenly solve the problem - do not be lazy, please unsubscribe.
I forgot to unsubscribe ... Taki almost solved the problem with Chrome's brakes. The article lifehacker.ru/2011/10/20/10-sposobov-uskorit-google-chrome/
helped in this,
and especially the advice in the comments to disable the disk cache with the keys –disk-cache-size=1 –media-cache-size=1
Decided almost a problem , because some brakes still remain, but there are an order of magnitude fewer of them! Well, or no more than in other browsers. I have been using Chrome for a month and a half without the slightest desire to start another browser. I wish you the same!
After a recent update to Skype, Chrome began to slow down a lot. I disabled the "Click to call with Skype" extension - Chrome's responsiveness has increased markedly.
I also installed Opera. Compared to Chrome, she just flies! But still, it's a pity to leave Chrome, my whole online life is tied to it. You will have to give up many amenities. The other day I tried all versions of chrome, including portable ones, including Chromium. This problem is everywhere. There are also quite a few people on the Internet complaining about this, but there is no solution anywhere. Moreover, it is strange that for some people Chrome always flies, while for others it constantly slows down. To reveal what regularity... But how?
Something recently, Chrome has become buggy for me too. Falls once a day regularly. Along with all processes.
Open/close is good for him. He even does it himself, prophylactically. Falls and reopens.
