Choosing an engine for a 2D game on Android

I have been working as an Android programmer for 3 months now, at work there is enough NDK for applications, but recently I decided to make my own game, without any tricks. I started doing it, and a problem arose, the graphics turned out to be too heavy, and there was a need to use the framework. One friend advised me Starling , he worked with him, and he really liked him. But Starling runs on Flash, and it's no secret that it's a dying technology. So, which framework is better to choose? Of course, I heard and read about libGDX, Cocos 2D, etc. , but someone praises, someone does not, maybe someone will tell you the best framework in terms of performance, low entry threshold, etc. I know Java, if the framework will work completely on it, then it's good, but if not, then I don't mind learning a new programming language.
