Cheapest way to make a USB3.0 HDD a network device with SMB?

Hello.
There is an external drive with USB 3.0 and a device that can only use it over LAN via SMB. The problem is that a stationary PC is currently being used to ensure the operation of the drive on the network.
But I want to do something more Christian or something ...
Based on this, I ask the community to suggest to the ignorant the most budgetary option for marrying a USB3.0 HDD and a LAN connector on another device. In addition to accessing files via SMB, other functionality is not of interest.
Thank you.

Buy an inexpensive NAS and put a hard drive into it, getting rid of the SATA-USB wrapper if necessary?
Buy a router with USB port and SMB support?
PS you should first make sure that the usb adapter is not built into the disk itself, otherwise the options with sata disappear. (it is unlikely that you decide to unsolder the disk to output the sata connector)

I think the Internet comes to you through a router, many of which have a USB disk connector.

A device that is only one?
