Changes in html are not saved on Bitrix?

I make changes on the main page of the site (html, html-pages folder).
Changes last for a day, and then everything reverts to the old version.
I think it's in the cache, because when it is reset, the changes are also canceled.
But if I disable the cache for the main page, will the site load speed change?
Or is that not the point at all?

html-pages is the cache folder. It is useless to edit anything in it.
The main page is edited (either/or/and):
1. Site template (header, footer)
2. Include areas
3. Index.php in the root of the site
4. Templates of components brought to the main page through a common template, include areas, or all of them same Index.php in the root of the site

Well, in general, the cache can. *Nervously I cross myself at the word "Bitrix"*. It can and should be disabled during development. Or making major changes to the prod. And then turn it on again.
For yes, it is such a heavyweight that even in good hands it is a monster when it comes to downloading without a cache.
Z.Y. I faced such a problem, with rollbacks one of the versions yes, this is a cache. In total, we had 3-5 reasons, but I don’t remember them.
