Change settings for http authentication and save passwords in IE8

I apologize in advance for the banal question, I didn’t want to disturb Habr over trifles, but I can’t cope on my own, and I don’t have the strength to endure.

After the next Windows XP update, MS decided to change the IE security settings for the Internet zone and trusted sites. I use the basic http authentication mechanism to access the admin panel of my own sites, and if earlier it was enough to enter the password once when you first started IE, now the password entry window (albeit with a saved password) pops up literally every 5-7 clicks, forcing press "OK" every time.

This setting is stored in Internet Options - Security - Trusted Sites - User Authentication . I need to select " Automatically log on to the network with the current username ", and there is "Automatic logon to the network only in the intranet zone ". The problem is that I can’t change the setting. I change it, but it doesn’t save: neither immediately nor after restarting IE.

I read on the network that you need to open IE on behalf of the built-in Administrator account "Opened it, changed the setting. It was saved, but only for the "Administrator" user, and I go to Windows with another user (who is also an administrator), and the setting is still old and does not change there.

Please tell me how to solve the problem?

I solved the problem by directly editing the settings in the registry.
support.microsoft.com/kb/182569/es#fixit4me
HKCU/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Internet Settings/Zones
Zones:
0 My Computer
1 Local Intranet Zone
2 Trusted sites Zone
3 Internet Zone
4 Restricted Sites Zone
The desired item is located in key 1A00 (User Authentication: Logon.)
0x00000000 Automatically logon with current username and password
0x00010000 Prompt for user name and password
0x00020000 Automatic logon only in the Intranet zone
0x00030000 Anonymous logon
I set 0x00 for the trusted sites zone (2) and everything was fine . ))
In the HKLM branch, just in case, I also changed it.

Apparently it's a matter of the rights to write to the registry.
Make the user an administrator and give him the appropriate rights.

A user who cannot change settings is also an administrator. I mentioned this initially ...
It just turns out that only the built-in “Administrator” account can change the setting. And only she can use this setting.
It is necessary, apparently, to look for this setting in the registry and try to change it there.

I'm already tired, and the annoyance from this nonsense is growing. Is there really no solution to this issue?
Settings are saved only on the built-in administrator account. Moreover, they are saved only there,
and for the current user they remain the same.
Literally every 5th click, the password entry window pops up again. It's unbelievable... ((
