I tried different resources, eventually settled on these two:
1) https://www.baeldung.com/ - the author has a professional approach to business. Theory explained by many code examples (English version).
2) https://javastudy.ru/spring-mvc/review-mvc-angular... - one of the best Spring MVC tutorials on the web in Russian. Demonstrates how to create a sample application to learn the basic sections of the Spring MVC, AngularJS, Bootstrap, and HTML5 frameworks in one application.
