Can the UPS be controlled from a connected device?

Is it possible to control the behavior of the UPS (namely, use mains power, or stop charging and start using its battery) from connected devices - a router (Asus RT-N16) and / or NAS (Synology 210j)?
Both are on Linux.

If UPS is able to do what you listed. Well, accordingly, you need to somehow connect to the UPS (rs232, Usb)
