Can the speaker sound worse?

It became interesting, can the sound of a conventional wireless speaker deteriorate?
For example, JBL Charge .
I bought it in August and after a long pause I decided to listen to the sound on it again. There was a feeling that the low ones began to wheeze.

Maybe ...
Over time, the material on the speaker shrinks, wears out, this may well affect the sound.
But the sound of the sound is different. If the speakers are quite expensive and of high quality, then the sound will worsen over time, but not to such an extent. That is, only the most avid music lovers can feel the difference. Or those who have a very sharp and perceptible hearing, plus or minus a few decibels for an ordinary private, will not play anything. It all depends on the quality of the speakers and on the conditions of their operation, the environment where they were installed, climatic and physical factors.

Maybe some debris got under the protective mesh of the speakers.
Try vacuuming.

Can the speaker sound worse?
Of course, the entropy is increasing.
In your case, diffuser degradation may have occurred.
