Can't get into bios. The cursor "_" is constantly blinking. In which direction to dig?

Can't get into bios. The cursor "_" is constantly flashing. Thinkpad e550 laptop. I tried to unhook the battery, removed the disks, the RAM. The only thing after removing the bios battery was a message about an incorrect date and two options - skip or go into the bios. Bios does not boot, but only blinks "_" endlessly. In which direction to dig?

Got to the programmer. Soldered bios. It was spelled wrong.
Lenovo has software utilities for updating everything and everything, after a reboot, the BIOS should have been updated, but the battery was dead and the flashing did not work. I flashed it with hardware, everything works

If during loading it does not reach a normal image, then you have to communicate with the computer through the remaining two channels - sound (these are beeps, the number and duration of which indicates the type of error) and POST codes.
POST codes are the numbers of verification steps that are issued in turn to port 80 as the self-test passes at startup. Usually (if everything is OK) they quickly flicker, but if a freeze occurs, like this, then the number of the stage at which this trouble happened remains on the indicator, and you can understand what happened from it.
To display POST codes, you need to plug a diagnostic scarf with port-80 and a digital indicator into the mother:
POST-Card-simple-post-card.jpgYou can buy them from the Chinese .
The list of codes on the network can be taken, for example, here. And keep in mind that both sound beeps and POST codes are different for each BIOS manufacturer.

See how to enter the BIOS with this laptop model. What's the problem, the computer won't boot? Does it show the bios logo? Does it squeak something? There are many options here, it may be necessary to reprogram the BIOS.

Have you considered the option with a dead BIOS battery?
