Can't connect icon fonts?

Hello! I decided to connect icon fonts, I'm connecting for the first time, and I can't figure out what to do.

I read the documentation, but it’s not clear what to do there (maybe I didn’t translate something, it’s bad with English, but there’s no exact instructions there), where can I get a css file with connected fonts, if the fonts themselves are downloaded in ai and eps formats, does not work. This is how I tried to include:

.aiis an Adobe Illustrator format, it is clearly not a font. Just use real web fonts (the extension must be .woff2or .woff).
If you only have a desktop version of the font (for example, with the extension .ttfor .otf) - then the web version can be obtained using the FontSquirrel generator .
