Can't boot PC. Normal.mod file not found. What to do?

Using the PartitionMagic program on Windows, I increased the size of one disk at the expense of another. Now the PC does not boot, grub rescue has come out, and it requires the normal.mod file from me. My actions:

error: file '/boot/grub/i386-pc/normal.mof' not found.
grub rescue> ls
(hd0) (hd0,msdos8) (hd0,msdos7) (hd0,msdos6) (hd0,msdos5) (hd0,msdos1) (fd0)
grub rescue> set prefix=(hd0,8)/boot/grub
grub rescue> set root=(hd0,8)
grub rescue> ls /boot/grub
./ ../ gfxblacklist.txt unicode.pf2 i386-pc/ locale/ fonts/ grubenv grub.cfg
grub rescue> insmod ext2
grub rescue> insmod normal
error: file '/boot/grub/i386-pc/normal.mod' not found.
grub rescue> insmod boot/grub/normal.mod
error: file '/boot/grub/normal.mod' not found.

PS I have 2 OC: Windows 7 and Ubuntu.
