Can raspberry be used on an industrial scale?

As I understand it, Raspberry Pi 2 Model B is used by geeks, enthusiasts or educational institutions. If you need to purchase hundreds or thousands of boards, will it be possible?

So write to distributors - what's the problem? Even if they don't have it in stock, they will definitely make it to order. Another question is what to buy directly from the manufacturer can be quite hemorrhoids; for currency transactions, tax, etc.
Version 3 has been out for quite some time now .

As far as I remember, the Raspberry Pi Foundation license does not prohibit the use of their boards as ready-made elements in the development of industrial systems.
It’s forbidden for them to get a board diagram and remake it to fit their needs, but it’s easy to take a raspberry and stick it into your product.
Even more, I will say - there is a huge bunch of such projects:
1. In Minsk, almost all new information boards at bus stops work on rasbian, I saw the listings several times when rebooting.
2. FlightRadar24 and FlightAware transponders are raspberry + SDR tuner.
And another wagon of other handicrafts

Hundreds and thousands is a trifle, not a problem at all. Local reseller stores will easily supply such a quantity, hundreds in days, thousands - rather, you will have to wait a bit.

Ukrainian shopping malls Shelf use Malinka as a multimedia display extension.
In cash registers, there is a solution from Incotex under EGAIS on a raspberry. Smart box UTM is called.
this is just a glimpse

If a campaign can afford to release thousands of devices, then why not take the raspberry scheme, throw out what is not used in their project, and produce the resulting device themselves.
