Can RAM work without ground?

DDR3
I have no way to check. But there is confidence that two resistors, through which some lamellas ("VSS" according to the datasheet) are connected to the ground, have infinite resistance (burned out).

VSS is by no means "ground", it's Voltage ... something there (for transistors - "sours"), I won't say for your circuit, I can't remember, but I'm too lazy to google. Either way, you're looking in the wrong place. Two wires + a very weak battery + LED = you connect the battery through these resistors to the LED - you look at the glow. It’s better, of course, to check with a weak current source, but who knows what you have there, but, as I understand it, there is no multimeter, voltage meter or resistance meter.
