Can mining power be used to calculate satellite orbits?

Hi all. The idea arose to use computing power to calculate the weather or calculate the orbits of satellites. Can this be implemented at all?
To clarify, for example, for cryptocurrency there is a method that, depending on the complexity, goes through thousands of iterations in a cycle and spends a lot of energy. I propose to confirm the transaction in order not to waste energy, to direct it to a good cause

Long before blockchains, there were [email protected] projects and the like.
Specifically, cryptocurrencies require the ability to quickly verify that the work is done correctly. And the complexity of the work to be performed must be known in advance. And with the calculation of satellite orbits or any drugs, it is either difficult to check the result (they will fake the result and will not spend resources on the calculation), or the result is non-deterministic (you may not get success in a hundred years)
