Can ISP cut wi-fi speed?
Good afternoon. The situation is strange. I have 2 wi-fi routers in my house (one duplicates the second). Both are called Tenda and operate on 5G. A month ago everything was fine and the speed was at the level of 85 on the base and 65 on the repeater. Tariff for 100Mbps. The difference between 5G and 2.4G was negligible. Above in the first case. Then problems with the light began and our entire area began to be cut down in the evenings. After that, the speed of the Internet through speedtest began to give out around 50 in 5G and 30 in 2.4G. The repeater can generally show around 20 in 5G. At the beginning, they discovered this because of the TV, which used to show broadcasts without any freezes, but now it began to lag constantly.
Important: If you connect via wire, then the speed will be 97Mbps.
Another important point: I had friends where TP-link was installed and there my laptop gave out 90 Mbps in 2.4G mode Tell me
, can the provider somehow cut the wi-fi speed? I just know about the concept of TTL in 3g / 4g Internet. There the provider can calculate whether the distribution is in progress or not. So I would like to clarify whether Rostelecom can somehow cut the speed of wi-fi? I repeat, I myself estimate and guess that it is not, but when I found out about TTL, I stopped judging just as clearly as before.
If the provider cannot cut the speed, then can 2 routers break down at the same time? I tried to swap them, but the situation did not change. The second one was bought 2 months ago and it is still under warranty. I just don't know how to return it and say it's broken. unless of course it's broken.

It’s the same for me, and smart TV slowed down, and the printer may not print via wifi, although it used to print. I solved the issue like this: the Internet wire is included in the router with a 5G access point, in another room there is another router that connects to the first one via 5G (WISP - wireless ISP) and a TV is connected to it with a wire. There is practically no one in the 5G range, and in 2.4G I have more than 50. Why did this start after you turned off the light: perhaps the neighboring routers change the channel when they reboot, i.e. they automatically choose another one, and yours too, and they chose it in such a way that it became bad, and before that it was good for a long time, because. they did not reboot for a long time (accidentally happened). Or some one router that interferes specifically with you has chosen a different channel. The fact that you did not find the best channel by brute force - you may not have tested enough on each channel. Download the wifianalyzer app to your phone and see which channels are the most free. For example, I sometimes have this application showing that on some channel, an access point with a strong signal constantly appears or disappears. Maybe she is interfering (my guess).
Anastasia ,
In short, not your specialty.
