I want to order blu-ray movies from States, Japan (A/1) and other (B/2, C/3) regional areas and play them on PC. To do this, I need to buy a blu-ray drive, but the uncertainty about regional protection does not allow me to do this.
On the English Wiki it is said (without reference to the source) that the region codes are checked only by the player (software), and not by the optical drive. Is it so? And will regular VLC be enough to play such media?
