Can HBA qlogic be used as a network interface?

Guys, help me for the first time met with this kind of equipment, the qlogic qle2462 model has two slots in it, inserted this board into PCI, and it seems to be visible in dmesg, but I still haven’t figured out whether it’s possible to make it work and be used as a regular network map?
at the moment, optics are inserted into the card and connected to a regular non-fiber channel switch, and the lights are on, but in the status in systool it is written that linkdown.
Can someone expand this question and make it clearer?
