Can a router be used as an extension cable?
Good afternoon. There is a local network with a joint of wires. Is it possible to put a router instead of an outlet? I understand that the incoming cable must be connected to the WAN, and the outgoing cable to any output port. Correctly? And how to make it so that this second router distributes IP, and not the first one, which is the DHCP server now?

Why WAN? Use it as a switch, turn off the distribution of addresses only in the router and specify an ip address for it in the range of your network.
the simplest "LAN-signal" amplifier - hub. but they are almost non-existent now.
so put the next in complexity - switch.
