Can a Java application be downloaded from the Windows Store?

There is an application written for Android on a clean architecture.
It is now planned to be ported to the Desktop using JavaFX.
How can I download this app from the Windows Store?
Is this possible using pure Java, or do I need to write a wrapper in C#?
I would be grateful for sources where you can learn more about this.

Only UWP apps can be uploaded to the Windows Store. It seems like something can be done with Codename One , maybe it will help.
