BSD vs Linux release rate of security updates?

I consider BSD as a server OS,
but some points are not clear.
FreeBSD 9.1 RELEASE still doesn't have compiled packages available, when it will be is unknown. There are only ports.
in OpenBSD, there is a package tree, but with rotten versions. for example lighttpd, a web server, in packages - 1.4.31 version, which is vulnerable, now the current version is 1.4.32. Looked at history in maillist'ah that in FreeBSD, that in OpenBSD updates in ports came promptly on the same day, in NetBSD with a delay in 2 days.
So it turns out that the only correct way to use software in OpenBSD/FreeBSD is through ports. Updating ports from sorts is a more time consuming process. What's the point in compiled packages if no one updates them.
In pursuit of another question, is there a difference in the speed of delivery of updates between Debian and RedHat / CentOS / Oracle Linux, or maybe even Ubuntu?
What do you think?

Why was BSD chosen? the ports there are beautiful, but, of course, not for everyone

There is a difference in the speed of delivery of updates to Linux, but it does not depend on the distribution, but on the maintainer (I don’t know if I wrote this word correctly). Personally, in my opinion, the speed of delivery of security updates everywhere is good enough not to take this factor into account when choosing a distribution (I could be wrong).

Do not worry, soon some normal package manager will be released in fryaha and finally it will become more enterprise. I still wonder why they didn't at least port the same yum or apt.
pkgng, they obviously didn’t really accept something, in fact, you need to make a normal package manager and remove the ports, whoever needs it knows how to compile it from the source.
The lack of a package manager was probably the main reason for my dislike for freebsd after the need to manually rebuild the kernel for many goodies, just at that time I met yum and was surprised how backward the freebsd system is after all.

Do you have a server and complain about package build times? Lighttpd compiles on good hardware in less than a minute.

Upgrade FreeBSD to -STABLE and updated software packages will be available immediately.

@santeri

why?
ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/amd64/packages-current/All/
ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/amd64/packages-stable/All/
latest version of lighttpd is 1.4.32 in packages - 1.4.31
in 1.4.32 ports, but what's the point of packages then?

Why use ports at all when the pkg package manager (analogous to apt-get) is available from FreeBSD version 9, has its own repositories, you just run pkg update and you can install everything you want.
In terms of the speed of updates, I will say this is Ubuntu, in addition to official updates, there are also tested distributions, on which updates are released almost every hour.
