Bootstrap modals not opening in safari. Why?

I copy the code from the initial page of the official bootstrap site with all cdns connected and paste the modal window example code from the same site into the body. I am getting the code below. It all works great, just not in safari. safari window does not appear. one would think that the browser is not supported, but the window pops up in a live example on the site. I tried to take the source code of the example page - the same thing, it works everywhere except safari. What could be the reason? all the necessary modules specified in the documentation are connected.
