Books on Databases and Formal Modeling?
Good afternoon. I am a first year student and would like to prepare for the next semester in the following topics:
A ) Databases :
1)Semantische Datenmodellierung-EER
2)Überführung in das Relationenmodel(Transition to a relational data model)
3)Datenbanksprachen-Query language (Relationale Algebra, Relationaler Tupel/Domänenkalkül, SQL)
4)Relationale Entwurfstheorie (Functional dependency)
B ) Formal modeling :
1)Aussagenlogik(Propositional logic)
2)Endliche Automaten(Finite automata)
3)Reguläre Ausdrücke(Regular expressions)
4)Petri-Netze(Petri nets )
Of all the above topics, I'm only familiar with "Regular Expressions" from
Ben Forth's book - Regular Expressions (185 pages). I really liked this book, everything is explained very clearly with examples, in an accessible language. On all other topics, I am a complete 0. I would like books that would give me basic concepts and prepare me for more complex books. They got me to the heart of the matter.
Thank you for attention.

If you are interested in relational databases (and the question contains Datenbanksprachen-Query language (Relationale Algebra, Relationaler Tupel/Domänenkalkül, SQL), then Krenke's best friend D (
Theory and practice of building databases.
) I think, and after SQL queries for mere mortals.
Written simply, and just for zero.Sometimes I look in.
But before that, I think it's worth knowing what sets are - subsets, graphs.
