Bookmark synchronization in OS X: how?

Before reinstalling OS X from scratch, I decided to find out, does iCloud save bookmarks in Safari? Those. if on a clean system I can restore all my bookmarks? I'm signed in to iCloud. I know about services like Xmarks, but I thought that you can do it natively without installing any plugins.

Personally, with my native means, through iCloud, it was not possible to synchronize bookmarks between a poppy and an ipad.
tossed manually, prescribing the path. notes through the cloud work. I copied all the paths and names through the notes.
