Bluetooth GPS + Ubuntu?
The problem is that in practice I don’t know how to configure Ubuntu 10.10 so that the data from the GPS beacon is transmitted via bluetooth to the xGPS software. I tried to set it up from the manual , but alas, it does not work. xGPS does not see satellites.
Netbook: Asus 1201Ha
GPS module: not clear, but SiRF 3 chip
OS: Ubuntu 10.10

These manuals are out of date.
Install blueman, it's in the repository.
Connect the gps module through it as a serial port.
And in /etc/defaults/gpsd in devices, specify the name of this port /dev/rfcom0, sort of.
Restart gpsd.
Also install gpsd-clients and try to get the data displayed in cgps or gpscat first.
That's all you usually need.
