Block rendering bug in Firefox?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to attach some code / screen / video, so you will have to guess on the coffee grounds and hope that someone faced a similar problem and solved it.

Trouble is extremely non-obvious and is reproduced every other time, but the following happens:

There is a block with scrolling (overflow-y: auto). It has a block that is larger than the parent block and thus causes the scrollbar to appear.

When scrolling, the child block is rendered partially (usually only the top part) and - the strangest thing - the rest of the block becomes visible only when you hover over it with the mouse. There are no hover effects, of course, just a regular content block. Everything is ok in chrome.
