Black screen or how to make a laptop with 960m and ubuntu?

I want to put the latest ubuntu on MSI PE60 laptop. Configuration: i7-5700HQ with integrated graphics, GTX 960M. Display resolution 1920*1080.
Problem: You can start the system normally only with the nomodeset modifier and removing gfxmode.
In all other cases, we get either a black screen, or sometimes a blinking image of a window with a login offer.
I tried to install all versions of the drivers: from the ppa repositories, from the Nvidia website, bumblebee. Every time the system was clean.
Nothing helps.
Question: can this be solved or is Linux not yet able to be friends with such new laptops?
ps leaving nomodeset is not an option. This means that there is no way to adjust the backlight.

@Realnewbie

Solution: when installing on, forget the checkbox for additional drivers and codecs.

Google nvidia-prima for ubuntu. Made friends with my 525m
