Black screen and blinking cursor when installing Ubuntu. What to do?

Hello! The essence of the question is this: a DELL 500 laptop, Ubuntu was already installed on it, but when upgrading to version 15.04, at first everything was fine, but with the last update it went completely stupid, I'm sorry, they installed Win7, and now they decided to install Ubuntu again, threw image on a USB flash drive, put everything in the BIOS, but .... the installation did not start .... a black screen on it in the left corner with a blinking cursor .... that's it .... CTRL + ALT + F1-F12 do not help, which make??? Sorry, if it's chaotic, I just don't know what to do anymore, I've tried many distributions and nothing... Could this be a problem with the flash drive? How to be? What to do? Maybe someone faced a similar problem? Help me please...

Try:
1) format the flash drive using the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool
2) Write the image using Rufus ( rufus.akeo.ie )
Set the formatting options as in the picture.
Helped me when installing ubuntu on Lenovo B560.

Alternatively, you can try plugging into another usb port. It helped more than once. I recently installed Mint on my Macbook and refused to install via the USB repeater in the keyboard, although the kernel was partially loaded

The flash drive with ubuntu was written crookedly from under Windows, I myself encountered such a problem when recording through Unetbootin, image2disk and others like them.
I solved the problem with writing ubunta to a flash drive through a computer with another ubunta (hello dd), from Windows I had to use a special program (unfortunately I don’t remember the name) to delete all partitions on the flash drive, format and only then upload the ubunta image
