I added a map to the site, how can I style it? For example, change the background color?

Yandex.Maps is not very stylized, at most you can apply filters like this:

.ymaps-layers-pane {
  filter: grayscale(100%);
  -webkit-filter: grayscale(1);
}

Better use Google.Maps. There are even services for Google maps, for example https://mapkit.io/editor
