Bitrix - how to deal with a license during development?
The honor of developing for Bitrix has fallen. I have not dealt with it before, but after looking at the documentation and video, I can probably master it.
The question arose: the site will be hosted on a hosting that hosts several more sites on Bitrix, where a Business license is installed.
But the development will initially go with me locally, and in the future, for the presentation, an instance will be raised on digitalocean and after that all this will be transferred to a shared hosting with all sites.
What order to choose for development so that later there are no problems with the transfer? I saw that there is a virtual machine and a virtual environment ( www.1c-bitrix.ru/products/env/) but I don’t quite understand how to transfer it to a shared hosting with multisite.
And what about the license? Locally?

The license is always for two sites. Development and production. At worst, unwind the clock and Bitrix will not guess what day it is on the developer.
In the settings, there was a complete backup of the site, which is deployed via install.php along with the database chtoli ... I don’t remember, but there is for sure.
And yes, they do not hunt for pirates. But there are protection mechanisms. If you break something, if you bought a license, you will be unlocked through support without questions.
As @Alexufo rightly noted , the licensing rules allow you to keep 2 sites, provided that the dev site is not public.
A virtual machine from Bitrix is convenient if you do not want to bother with setting up the environment.
The engine has a mechanism for creating backups, although it works well for small projects, after which it is advisable to backup using OS tools. By the way, in the environment from Bitrix, there is a script that correctly backups the site using OS tools.
Transfer the site through backups, if you made a backup using the Bitrix administration panel, then after creating it, you will be prompted to download the restore.php file, with which this backup can be restored on any hosting.
Protection works automatically. If you installed the updates, did something and rolled back the Bitrix version, with a 90% chance that you will write a ticket to the TP with a request to unblock the site update.
If your office has a partnership with Bitrix, then they issue a special no-retail version for development. It's a good choice for local development. At work, we put a "small business" edition on our dev server right before we start development. In this mode, it works, it seems for a month, after which a warning starts to appear at the top and after that it works for another 2 weeks. During this period, only one project was not handed over, in this case, using the standard Bitrix backup tools, they made a copy, then reinstalled Bitrix, and restored the copy. There is another option that is not entirely humane - to transfer the license from another trial (Google to the rescue). After development, transfer the site to the host machine and buy a key. Everything should work.
