Benford's Law. Can it be applied in the area of information security?

I would like to discuss or learn about the possible application of Benford's Law in the field of information security, namely in network security. Often, in the description of the law, it is mentioned in passing about its applicability in network monitoring, but there are no specific decisions, articles, or even comments on this matter. Here's what I could find:
www.ece.unm.edu/faculty/chaouki/PAPERS/Theses/Nayl... - Master's thesis on using Benford's law to secure wireless networks (but everything is very superficial).
habrahabr.ru/post/240853 - Article on habré.
I would like to hear opinions / links about its applicability for determining the level of information security, or for measuring the level of information security of networks in general.
Thank you.

What for? If you need to apply it, you can set a goal and do it. But it's work for the sake of work. I can't believe that you have received a patent "application ... in the field of information security" and see what comes of it. What specifically are you missing?
