Comrades, who lives in Belarus, what do you have there now? Is the crisis over? What about work, money and general standard of living?

Now in Belarus, it’s about the same as in Russia in the 90s. And yet, the op has only just begun.
PS Information from several residents of Minsk.

I'll be brief - Stable polar fox :)
State organizations in full opera, because. the exchange rate of the local currency against the dollar fell sharply.
Outsourcing IT companies are in chocolate - they receive currency and sell, mostly they pay off with employees in dollars, which have grown in price :)
Ask more specific questions - I will answer.

I was in Belarus in July, I was amazed by the prices and the abundance of products in supermarkets. It's worth going there, if only because of black bread)) Whoever loves, I think, will appreciate it.
We were especially shocked by the prices for meat products - raw smoked sausages, dry-cured meat, etc., especially for delicacies. There are queues behind them in stores, despite the fact that in Russia, I buy raw smoked sausage twice a year, it’s expensive and not very fresh (I’m from the Far East).
What immediately catches your eye - everywhere is cleanliness, order, right everywhere.
Shopping centers in Minsk are mostly state-owned. The same Capital, like a hefty shopping center, but there is not much choice.
Alcohol, guys, there is just fantastically cheap alcohol -) at the exchange rate for July, it cost from 50 rubles for a bottle of vodka. At the same time, when you take vodka there, I am sure that it is vodka, unlike what we have here.
On TV there is only news about Lukashenka and our series.
About Lukashenka, I would say that this is "the one who should not be remembered." You get fined for speaking badly about him over the phone. Stupidly they can send a fine of 10 thousand rubles (Russian).
All in all, not everything is clear. A totalitarian regime, while everywhere there is order and clear control over the functioning of everything and everyone. In contrast to our chaos and the painting of the omnipresent.
But, for some reason, I did not want to stay there. It really does feel like you are stepping into the past. We have already done a lot of things that are not even there yet.
And in general, as it became known yesterday, Putin, with a probability of 99%, will rule for another 12 years, which, in general, also does not bode well for us mere mortals.

Now IT people are doing well in Belarus. Of the proposals sent to my circle, even the average level of payment has increased by $ 500. Naturally, when choosing a place of work, you need to look for where the salary is in the correct currency or is tied to a black rate, best of all remote work.
There are IT offices in Gomel, you can find a job, but again, remote work is better. The problem of Gomel is the proximity of the Russian border and problems with shelves in stores, which are demolished by neighbors from a more successful neighboring country, but again, you can go to Russia or Ukraine to stock up.
I would highly advise you to move, we have the golden 90s here, and if you hurry up and have a little luck, you can grab your piece of business.

Good afternoon. If you expect to come to the Republic of Belarus and work as a winadmin, think carefully again. Now there is an extremely unstable situation with the dollar exchange rate and most of the offices that are looking for vinadmins pay in bunnies. There are not so many large offices and the people who work there hold on to their jobs.
Yes, and with housing it is quite difficult now - despite the fact that the currency has risen in price, housing prices are not falling.
So if you already know that you will be hired in a normal office - mb makes sense, if not - I would advise you to wait another 2-3 months with the move.

Who is from Belarus? Can you confirm such good news?
Sep. 22nd, 2011|04:00 pm red-viper.livejournal.com/77928.html
Yesterday evening we returned with Katya from Belarus, where we spent four days.
If in August (and we also spent August there) there was still a sense of crisis — although the default of 1998 was many times harder and just physically more terrible — now we can state that the peak of the crisis has already been passed, and passed quite calmly.
The dollar is getting cheaper by leaps and bounds (in our country, by the way, the opposite is true).
If on Friday they gave an average of 8,000 Belarusian rubles for a dollar, then on Tuesday morning - 7,400, and in the evening - 7,100. Products in supermarkets did not decrease or increase, but the assortment in the shopping carts of buyers became clearly more diverse.
Talk about how bad life has become (in August we had to hear this) has gone out of fashion. People are working, production has not stopped even for a minute, and this allows us to hope that Belarus will be able to cope with its problems without resorting to the kind help of the Russian oligarchy, which has sharpened its teeth on Belaruskali and other tidbits.
Yes, and by the way, the activity of the “democratic opposition”, which clapped their hands, began to decline sharply. Neither Poles nor social networks helped them.

> And with the Belarusian ruble really so-you can't buy it in the exchanger, they sort it out.
Do you mean is it possible to exchange currency for Belarusian money? Easy. The currency is not officially sold in the country, so personally, having arrived from Ukraine, I immediately found a money changer and exchanged more profitably than in a bank (banks also change currency to Belarusian ones). It is important to note here that you need to know the black market rate, I foolishly fused 6,000 rubles / $, but in reality it was 7,000. You can even exchange hryvnia for Belarusian rubles!
Please note that today it seems that a law has been adopted, according to which the exchange in Belarus is carried out only with a passport. I xs than it threatens.

I live in Gomel and here freelancers and people working for IBA, EPAM receive a salary of usd. As far as firms are concerned, they really pay with hares. But all the same, the sums are decent than those of the same engineer or builder who throws sand. There is where to turn around.

For some reason, all answers are written by non-Belarusians. I live in Minsk and everything is ok here. Comparing neighboring countries, Belarus does not pull anywhere. Everything is fine, middle programmer's salary: 2-2.5K, senior - 3K. There are enough vacancies. We are fighting corruption, the streets are clean. By what criteria would you rate?
